Three held for conning pvt firm staff

Three men were arrested by the Koramangala police on Wednesday, on charges of conning a private company.

BENGALURU: Three men were arrested by the Koramangala police on Wednesday, on charges of conning a private company. The accused had managed to change the bank accounts details of the employees to their own bank account. Salaries totalling `10 lakh was credited to their bank account in March 2018.

The arrested are identified as Syed Sulaiman (21), Prashant Ramu (33) and Prashanth Kumar (24), all residents of Koramangala.A senior police officer said that Rajesh CC, who works in the HR department of the private consultancy, had filed a case with the police alleging that a man had called customer care service and claimed that he worked in the company. He wanted to change his bank account details and informed the same to the customer service. The people in the customers service changed the bank accounts of ten employees, and their salary was then credited to Sulaiman and his friends.

During the investigation police found that Sulaiman was working as an executive in a consultancy firm and had collected bank account details of a total of 23 employees. He linked three separate private banks and was receiving salary of those employees to their accounts. The employees who came to know about this, contacted the account’s staff and then HR officials filed the case.Based on a tip-off, Sulaiman was nabbed who then then revealed the names of his associates, the police said.
