Renukaswamy murder case: Police seize Pavithra’s clothes, sandals from house

BENGALURU: Pavithra Gowda, prime accused in the Renukaswamy murder case in which actor Darshan is also one of the arrested, was taken by the police for spot mahazar at her residence in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police, Pavithra was the first to hit the victim with her sandals on June 9, the day of the murder.

The police took Pavithra along with accused number three Pavan, who was a worker at her house, for the inspection. The officials, along with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team, examined the two-storey building for about two hours and seizes the clothes she was wearing on the day of incident and the sandals she used to allegedly beat the victim.

Pavithra has been staying at the house for the last 10 years, while Pavan was given accommodation in a room on the ground floor. Both Pavithra’s residence and Pavan’s room were checked by the police. While being taken out of the house, Pavithra and Pavan were seen smiling while curious neighbours stood on the balconies and outside their houses watching the developments.

The accused duo was shifted to Annapoorneshwari Nagar police station after the mahazar. It is said that Darshan might be taken to Mysuru for a spot inspection as he gone there for a movie shoot after the murder of Renukaswamy. After the murder, the money deal was done in a hotel in Mysuru where he stayed.

The police took the other four accused for a spot inspection to Chitradurga and seized the car used to kidnap Renukaswamy.
