CHENNAI: It was no ordinary party, after two evenings of closed pubs and discos and not a drop of the spirit around. It wasn’t long before most of those house parties went dry too. The moment the two-day ban on alcohol was lifted after the polling, party goers heaved a sigh of relief and headed to their favourites with much fondness out of having kept away for a couple of days. Right in time was the salsa night at Havana, already a popular one at this watering hole, this one was extra special. Dancers and dance enthusiasts alike flocked the interiors of this basement- club and danced away to the DJs’ beats. The crowd poured in post nine in the evening and the party ended at an early hour of 11, quite surprisingly.
