SHORT stories by author Pooram Sathiyamurthy, who reached heights of his literary career in the 1960s and 70s will now be available in the form of an audio CD. Produced by Bombay Kannan, the CD, Nalam Tharum Sol,  was launched on July 11 at the Srinivasa Sasthri hall, Luz, Mylapore, amidst loved ones and well-wishers.

Writer Sathiyamurthy, 73,  has written books for both children and adults in the last four decades. His stories were brought out in the form of two books - Paridupettra siru kadaigal and Pooram Siru Kadaigal, about three decades ago. Of these, four stories - Nalam Tharum Sol, Sankaram, Sthala Vriksham and Andi Velai -  have been selected and compiled in this CD. Artists like  Bombay Kannan, Karur Rangaraj, Ramanan, Sathyamurthy, Gnanam, Bharani, Brinda and Radha have given their voices for CD runs for two and a half hours. Sahitya Academy General Council member, Prof. Ramagurunathan, handed over the first copy of the CD, Nalam Tharum Sol,  to KS Ganapathy, former member of the Madras Legislative Council. Also present were Dr S Venkatraman, Vice President, HRD, Deldhi - TVS, VN Chidambaram, Industrialist, K Prem Kumar, Scientist and NR Chandran, senior advocate and former advocate general.
