‘Be truthful and devoted’

‘Be truthful and devoted’

Understanding of god

I strongly believe that a supreme power exists above and is in control of all beings in this world. I do believe in god, but I am not a fanatic. Like any other layman, I too think about god in difficult times and seek his help in times of distress. But the fact that he exists gives me a lot of strength.

Miracles

I don’t believe in miracles, but when something unexpected happens in my life, whether positive or negative, I believe that god has done that for some purpose. To me, miracle is an event attributed to divine intervention. If it happens, fine. If it doesn’t, then I don’t crib about it. I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Take on meditation

I haven’t tried doing meditation so far, but I believe it calms our mind and gives us a lot of peace and inner strength.

About spirituality

I am definitely spiritually inclined. Everyone has the right to worship whoever they want to, but that practice and belief should not affect anyone.

Visits to temples

I don’t visit temples often, but I am an ardent devotee of Sabarimala Iyyappan. The temple is an epitome of religious harmony as it is open to all irrespective of caste, creed and religion. I take a journey to the temple every year after fasting for 41 days. You have to be true and devoted to get  the lord’s blessings.
