Madras SPCA president elected

Harish L Metha was elected as the President of Madras Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Madras SPCA) for 2013-15.

The announcement was made at their 132nd Annual General Body meeting at C A Vasudevan Hall SPCA building, Vepery. Metha is a well known social worker, philanthropist and an educationist.

Madras SPCA, a 131-year-old organisation is working for the welfare of animals by engaging in various activities in Chennai since 1881. Madras SPCA society has initiated many animal welfare programmes like animal shelter, dog hostel, and pet clinic for more than a century and promises to continue their service for society.
