Woman kills lover, gives suicide spin

The death of 31-year-old realtor Suresh Kumar of Vallam on July 2 at the house of his friend’s wife turned out to be a murder after the woman confessed to the crime, on Saturday.

Suresh was found dead at Jerene’s house in Sadras, near Thirukalukundram. It was reported that Suresh had an affair with Jerene. Police said Jerene had killed him when he was asleep after he refused to ditch his wife and afresh with her.

She killed him by stamping him on his neck. Later, she pretended to have lowered him from a noose and asked the neighbours to rush him to hospital.

Police grew suspicious of Jerene after she kept making contradictory statements during interrogation. On intensive interrogations, Jerena confessed to the crime and was remanded in judicial custody.

Techie loses bike

A techie was conned by a fictitious railway employee in TNHB colony, Avadi, who stole the youth’s bike in the guise of buying it.

Sarath Sundar had posted his intention to sell his bike on a web portal a few weeks ago and had received numerous responses. One person, who claimed to be working in the Railways, approached him on June 28 and introduced himself as Murugan.

He inquired about the condition of the bike and offered to buy it. After Murugan won Sarath’s confidence, Sarath offered him the bike for a test-ride. Murugan rode the bike away and never returned.

After waiting for a few hours, Sarath lodged a complaint with Avadi police. Preliminary inquiry showed that personal details given by Murugan were fake.
