Khadi kraft launches new soaps, footwear

Kadhi Kraft launched new soaps and footwear at its Kuralagam branch recently.

The new collection was unveiled by Minister for Khadi and Village Industries T P Poonatchi during a function at the main Kadhi showroom.

Harminder Singh, secretary of the Handlooms Department, was also present during the event.

Three newly introduced varieties of soaps namely, Kumari (Aloe vera), Mooligai (Herbal) and Gopuram Sandal made their maiden sales, while pure leather shoes and slippers were added to the footwear section of the showroom.

Kadhi general manager Elumalai said, “The soaps are made of all-natural ingredients and contain little to no artificial substances. We have used milk powder, aloe vera, sandal oil, herbs and many other natural raw material to make the soaps. Similarly, the footwear is completely made of leather, which goes easy on the feet compared to rexine or other synthetic material. Many popular brands of all-natural soaps and footwear charge a huge amount for their products. But our USP is to sell those at very affordable prices.”

He further said that the price of one Kumari soap (100 g) is `22, price of one Mooligai soap (100 g) is `20 and that of Gopuram Sandal (75 g) is `24. Some of the leather footwear are priced at `600, `750, `850 and so on.
