Keep your heart open to induce intuition

It was 1.45 in the afternoon. Pujya Shri Nimishananda Guruji was talking to a few devotees, explaining the subtler aspects of spiritual sadhana. As he wound up what he was saying, he looked at the clock and said, “Two devotees should be here any time now. I had sent them a message asking them to come here at 12.30 pm. They are late.” A couple of minutes later Dr Anil Kumar, a pediatrician and his wife Prabha Devi entered the ashram gates. After washing their feet in the garden, (as is the custom in India before entering any holy place) they came into the Darshan Hall and prostrated at Pujya Guruji’s lotus feet. Pujya Guruji blessed them - ‘May both of you be enlightened. May your lives be long and fruitful.’

As they seated themselves, Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “It’s good to see you. Was there a special reason for coming here today?” The devotees who were witnessing this were puzzled. Hadn’t Pujya Guruji just told us that he had sent a message asking them to come? Seeing the devotees’ bewilderment, Pujya Guruji gave them a mischievous smile. Dr Anil Kumar said, “Pujya Guruji, I have been wanting to see you for the past few days. Early today morning, while I was in the clinic, a command from within hit me strongly - ‘Today, come what may, I must meet Pujya Guruji at 12.30 in the afternoon’. I called Prabha immediately and told her to be ready as I would pick her up at twelve. Unfortunately, I had some work in the bank which took much longer than I expected and we had come at 1.45. Pujya Guruji, why did I get such a strong urge to be here at 12.30 sharp?”

Shri Nimishananda Guruji laughed and said, “Your intense yearning to meet me reached me. So I sent you an internal command to be here at 12.30 today.”

A devotee asked, “Pujya Guruji, sometimes we try so hard to come here for your darshan. But circumstances arise one after another and somehow we finally find ourselves unable to come.”

Shri Nimishananda Guruji said, “Most of us make the mistake of believing that we are the doers, forgetting that nothing is possible without divine grace. Without mother’s sanction nobody can come here. Don’t think that you came here today because you wanted to come. Each one of you is here because the divine mother has called you.”
