Three students of the Government Nandanam Arts College were arrested and remanded on Friday for assaulting an MTC bus conductor. Police said the students had earlier in the day picked up a quarrel with a few staff at the Nandanam bus depot. As the students noticed bus conductor Shanmugam waiting at the bus stop near their college campus, they surrounded and beat up him. Based on Shanmugam’s complaint, the police arrested four students of the college. One of them was released on bail, while three others were produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody.
