CHENNAI: The South Regional Round of Indian Hairdressing Awards, an annual event organised by L’Oreal Professional, witnessed a splash of creative hairstyles.
The fourth edition, which took place at ITC Grand Chola, recently, saw each of the shortlisted teams walk on the ramp, showing off their locks. This was followed by the L’Oréal Professionnel Dream Team performing a live hair-show themed – Tribes. The 20-minute show displayed some exotic hairdos.
The finalists for Men’s Image, Young Stylist, Cut and Colour Awards, among others, were selected among the contestants from Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Puducheri, Vijayawada and Udupi. The 34 Regional Finalists of the South were judged by experts from the fashion industry including photographer Rohan Shrestha, makeup artist Stafford Braganza, designer Nikhil Thampi, fashion writer Eva Pavitharan and expert hairstylist from Singapore, Simon Koh.
The participants were shortlisted from among the 1,000 entries received by L’Oreal Professional this year. “It is overwhelming to see the number of entries multiply with each edition of the IHA and the quality keeps getting better and better,” said Sussan Verghese GM Marketing, L’Oréal Professionnel.
The other regional competitions will be held in Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi, and the Grand Finale will be held in Goa in February 2015.
