Celebrating Autonomy

CHENNAI: As part of its celebrations to mark 10 years of autonomy, MOP Vaishnav College for Women is launching the maiden edition of Shringar, an event to celebrate art and culture, at its open air theatre auditorium. The occasion will feature the alumni of the college, who have excelled in classical music and dance. To be inaugurated on December 6 by acclaimed film director-writer Sharada Ramanathan,  the event will go on till December 8. The three-day festival will feature eminent vocalists and dancers including Vasudha Ravi, Ragini Sri, Saindhavi Prakash, Shashwathi Jagadish, Aarabhi Badri, Sukanya Kumar, Sudharma Vaithiyanathan, Swetha Sundararajan and Nivedita V. The valedictory ceremony, scheduled for December 8 at 7.15 pm, will be presided over by carnatic vocalist Ashwath Narayanan.
