Right Time for MDMK to Exit NDA Fold: MK

CHENNAI: DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi on Tuesday condemned BJP national secretary H Raja for his open threat to MDMK leader Vaiko and said conditions are ripe for Vaiko to quit the saffron front.

He also reminded Vaiko that the DMK had quit the Congress alliance when the Manmohan Singh  government acted in support of Sri Lanka.

All the parties in Tamil Nadu have condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi for wishing success to Mahinda Rajapaksa in the Presidential elections in the island nation. While all other BJP leaders preferred to remain silent, Raja alone had reacted in his characteristic manner and threatened Vaiko that the MDMK chief could not return home safely, if he criticised the Prime Minister, the DMK leader said here.

When Tamil leaders enraged at Rajpaksa’s atrocities against Tamils air their opinion, BJP leaders in Tamil Nadu should support them and convey the sentiments to the Prime Minister, he said.

They should not assume that they were direct representatives of Narendra Modi and use harsh words against other leaders, Karunanidhi said.
