Honour for Sirkazhi Sivachidambaram

CHENNAI: Noted musician Dr Sirkazhi G Sivachidambaram  will be conferred with the Isai Perarignar Award of the Tamil Isai Sangam. A press release from Tamil Isai Sangam said Pann Isai Perarignar award would be given to Thiruvidaimaruthur S Sambantha Desigar. The Sangam, this year, will also honour Pann Isai Kavalar Dr L P KR Ramanathan Chettiar for his outstanding service to Pann Isai as secretary of the Pann Research Committee from 1949 to 2013. The awards will be presented on December 21 at the inaugural of the 72nd Annual Tamil Isai Festival at the Sangam’s headquarters at Rajah Annamalai Hall by Justice S Nagamuthu of the Madras High Court. The awards constitute a gold medallion, a silver plaque and an endowment prize of `10,000.
