St John's Bars Parent Entry, Later Relents

CHENNAI: A day after parents of children studying in St John’s Senior Secondary School in Mandaiveli formed an association, the management on Monday welcomed them with a notice that barred parents, visitors, and strangers from entering the premises. Speaking to Express, a parent said the notice, which had been put up outside the premises, was removed at the behest of police officials who reportedly informed the school that parents should not be barred.

This comes days after some parents staged a protest in the school premises against the management for allegedly not intimating a holiday. On Sunday, the parents held a meeting under the newly formed St Johns CBSE Mandaveli Parents Association, where various issues regarding the school were discussed.

One parent said he received a phone call from police requesting them to refrain from protesting again.
