Honouring Unsung Heroes

CHENNAI: Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN) honoured front end retail associates who have created memorable shopping experiences for customers, at the Annual Retail Awards recently.

Nominations from more than 85 brands were received from all across the country, and about 116 cities participated in the awards. The winners included Dominos, Crossword Bookstores Ltd and Titan Eye Plus among others.

The national winners were awarded with a cash price of `50,000,  `35,000 and `20,000 for gold, silver and bronze category respectively, along with a fully-paid retail study tour to Dubai.

The jury members who decided the winners included Murugavel Janakiraman, founder and CEO, Bharat Matrimony Group, K Pandiarajan, co-founder, MD and CEO, Ma Foi, Hemu Ramaiah, MD, Shop4Solutions and founder of Landmark stores, Sandeep Reddy, MD, Peepul Capital, and Werner Studer, executive director, Intercontinental Group of Department Stores.

 B S Nagesh, founder, TRRAIN, said, “Some retailers have customer service embedded into their skill development programmes of their companies. During the course of my involvement in the TRRAIN Retail Awards, I have come across many organisations that have developed values around the customer and serving them. These values have played an important role in building the culture of the company, and therefore, customer service and customer retention becomes ingrained in every employee of the company.”
