CHENNAI: Actor Taapsee Pannu unveiled the 10th anniversary issue of WE magazine at Taj Club House recently.
Addressing the audience which included actors, writers, photographers, special contributors, clients and followers of the magazine, Taapsee said that she was thoroughly excited to be associated with the special issue which had her on the cover.
She mentioned that the cover shoot was a memorable experience for her. Actor Napolean, who was also present at the event, gave a humorous speech that had the audience in splits.
Sumathi Srinivas, the editor of WE, shared how the magazine had seen ups and downs through its journey spanning 10 years. “But the constant support and encouragement of its well-wishers helped us achieve a wide readership,” she said.
Much was spoken about the magazine’s simple and sensible content and how it does not objectify women even while portraying them in stylish and glamorous ways.
The evening saw a host of celebrities including Poornima Bhagyaraj, Abirami Ramanathan, Nallammai Ramanathan and Anand Palanisamy, besides Kumaravel and Veena Kumaravel of Naturals, Murali of Krishna Sweets, Sam Paul of Toni and Guy, Kanthilal of Chennai Diamonds and Dr Kamala Selvaraj.
Photographer Karthik Srinivasan, writer Lena Tamizhvanan and model Pradhayini Sarvothaman were also present.
WE magazine is one of the divisions among many others such as television production and Soulmates Foundation — a CSR activity to help the underprivileged children for education — that Sumathi heads under the banner of Twilite creations.
At the event, a video clip capturing the journey of Twilite creations through 10 years was also played.
