City on Alert After Attack on Pakistan School

Following advisory on possible terror attacks, security had been enhanced around schools and other vital installations as suggested.

CHENNAI: Following Wednesday’s advisory from the Union Home Ministry on possible terror attacks, the State police has stepped up vigil at vital installations and places of importance with special emphasis to schools.

The development comes in the wake of the gruesome massacre at Peshawar school, and the advisory had been issued to the heads of police forces and home departments of all states.

Confirming its receipt by the DGP, a senior police official said security had been enhanced around schools and other vital installations as suggested.
