Platinum Weather Storm to Emerge Champs

CHENNAI: The final day of the Elite Super Sixes indoor cricket tournament presented by Bathcaff and co-sponsored by Jineshwar Capitals and Infra Venture at Netzz Cricket, on the roof top of Citi Centre Mall, saw some scintillating action as RCC Platinum overcame a spirited RCC Magnum in the final to clinch the title in the inaugural 7 overs-a-side edition.

With the four qualified teams set to do battle in an IPL-style playoffs and qualifier format, finalists to emerge from all the action were Platinum and Magnum.

The summit clash was a closely fought affair as Platinum, who came up with some stunning catches when defending a competitive target of 84, pipped Magnum by a mere 16 runs to put their hands on the coveted trophy. “It’s been a great experience and a wonderful tournament, and winning it makes it all the more special,” said Platinum captain Siddhart Khicha.

Brother Kunal Khicha, representing Magnum, won the man of the series award for top scoring in the event with 366 runs. Magnum captain Anand Kumar had a suggestion to put forth as well. “Maybe from the next time, the final could be a best of three affair,” he said.
