On a Mission to Spread Gandhi’s Message on Peace

CHENNAI: Marking 70 years since Gandhi took the march to Noakhali in East Bengal, several institutions across the country will be joining to spread his teachings. At an event held by the Green Peace Mission, and coordinated by Harijan Sevak Sangh, Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah released the Gandhi Peace Mission logo at Vinobha Hall, Thakkar Bapa campus recently.

“Our aim is to spread the message of Ahimsa and truth across the country. To make this happen, The Gandhi Peace Mission will be organising peace marches and visiting select villages in Noakhali region from December end to January 30, 2015. We will also be taking part in Dhaka and Kolkata peace conferences on January 31 and February 2 respectively, next year,” said Professor N Radhakrishnan, National convenor of the mission. “Great leaders like Gandhi have made India what it is today. As we witness the decrease in moral values and non-violence, our efforts must be channelised towards developing the spirit of oneness,” said Rosaiah. “It’s a great move by the Gandhi Peace Mission. I wish them all the best, “ said Former Supreme Court Judge S Mohan. The organisation, in association with the Harijan Sevak Sangh and Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya Samiti, will be organising workshops and seminars with regard to the peace march.
