Air Commodore Rippon Gupta assumed command of the Air Force Station Tambaram, recently. Air Commodore Sreekumar Prabhakaran handed over the command at an impressive ceremonial parade held at Air Force Station Tambaram on Monday.

The outgoing head of Tambaram Air force station Air Commodore Sreekumar Prabhakaran, who stands posted to the National Defence College, New Delhi addressed the personnel of Air Force Station. He appreciated the personnel for the hard work put in by them during his tenure. He further urged them to extend wholehearted cooperation to the new Commanding Air Officer so that the Station could attain greater heights in the future and also carried out the ceremonial review of the parade in the morning, where his successor was also present.

Air Commodore Rippon Gupta assuming command of Air Force Station Tambaram is a graduate of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune, Commissioned from the flying branch of the fighter stream in December 1985. His previous deputations include Chief Operation Officer and Command of the Aerostat unit. He was the Command Air Defence Officer at Headquarters, South Western Air Command and has commanded a premier Air Defence Direction Centre in Delhi National Capital Region clocking over 3000 hours of flying to his credit. He has also been the Flight Commander of 32 Squadron, Air Force and is a qualified flying instructor. He has undergone the Air Staff course at Defence Services Staff College and Army Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow, according to an official release.
