The 86th birth anniversary of Dr Daisaku Ikeda, the founder of Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women, was celebrated recently on the college campus.
Every year, Dr Daisaku Ikeda’s birth anniversary is celebrated as Global Harmony Day and a blood donation camp is arranged as a tribute to him for his achievements for spreading peace and harmony. Students and staff members took solemn promise to invoke and maintain the peace. The Advisor, P Ranjithakani, administered the oath, which was repeated by the students in unison. The guest of honour, Mythili Muralidharan expressed the importance of service. She encouraged the students to join Rotaract to mould their life. In her speech Kiyomi Tanaka, Japanese lecturer drew examples from Dr Ikeda’s writings and asked the students to realise their potential.
