RPF Inspector on Duty Falls Off EMU, Dies

An inspector in  the  Railway Protection Force fell off  an Avadi-bound Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) and died. The mishap took place at Korattur Railway Station on Thursday.

An inspector in  the  Railway Protection Force fell off  an Avadi-bound Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) and died. The mishap took place at Korattur Railway Station on Thursday.

Police said the victim George (42), attached to Perambur Loco Works- RPF station, would check on night guards and escorts on local trains  to deter crime. After his beat at Villivakkam Station, George boarded an EMU at  Moore Market Complex  and fell near the Level Crossing gate, 10 metres from the Korattur Station. He was declared dead by the ambulance crew.
