The dating game is a world of horrors, with people ranging from schizophrenic monkey personalities and polygamists to psychics who want to lick your feet. Okay, maybe not quite as mad as all that in real life, but hey, its called drama for a reason.
Theatre company Crea-Shakthi’s previously staged Two Timing was back with a new cast, that opened their annual MY Theatre Festival over the weekend.
Headlined by one of the winners of their student drama edition as Stella Maris’ The Stellar Players, the play comprised several five-minute sketches that showcased the range of people one might come across when one goes out on a date.
Though the characters seemed contrived and there was only one person who really stood out (a delightfully loud Vaidhya Sundar), the audience – mostly the college-going crowd – seemed to be hooked on to every last gag. Directed by Murali Satagopan and Vaidhya, the play was an unabashed exaggeration of all the dating stereotypes. For a cast and audience spread most across their twenties , it was an evening well spent.
