Women commuters in the city can soon travel with ease as an all-women auto drivers’ fleet, ‘Auto Rani’, would hit the roads from March. Auto Raja Mobility Solutions (ARMS), in association with the Transport Department announced the launch of the service here on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Aishwarya, president of ARMS, a firm that makes autos available on call, said the organisation is already in the process of training women. She also announced the institution of Auto Raja awards where customers can vote for the best auto driver. All India Bank Employees Association, Consumers Association of India and Association for Non-traditional Employment for Women will partner with Auto Raja in the initiative.
