CHENNAI: In a bid to improve the quality, speed and effectiveness of the projects in progress, the Chennai Corporation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Architecture and Planning (SAP), Anna University, and the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP).
The MoU was signed in the presence of Mayor Saidai S Duraisamy.
As per the agreement, the civic body will lean on its partners to provide technical assistance as well as to conduct training sessions for its officials, moderators, engineers and workers.
While the SAP will receive funds from the Corporation to organise the events, the same agreement doesn’t extend to the ITDP.
Outstanding projects of the Corporation of Chennai include, among others, setting up of pedestrian plazas and road widening measures to help decongest traffic on major city roads.
