Traffic Disrupted as Road Caves In

Metro Rail officials visited the spot and supervised the operation to cover the caved in portion.

CHENNAI: The Metro Rail work on Saturday yet again led to caving in of a portion of the road on Anna Salai.  Around 7.30 pm, a sizeable hole of about 20 feet diameter suddenly formed on the road near the LIC building. Traffic was diverted ahead of this spot, close to which digging work to lay underground track was on.

Metro Rail officials visited the spot and supervised the operation to cover the caved in portion.

The incident led to traffic snarls on the stretch.
