‘There's a World Beyond Academic Excellence'

CHENNAI: “It is important for students to understand there is a world beyond academic excellence,” said MA Britto, Deputy Director, Office of Director General of Audit (Central) Chennai, at a function held at Vivekananda College on Tuesday.

“Students have to learn to transform vast amount of information gained into wisdom, which can equip you for life beyond the boundaries of college by setting goals, being focused and being innovative in the course of your career,” he added.

“This confluence is a spiritual and physical sangam where best things mingle and come together. In this day of information explosion, there is a need to transform information into wisdom, and this confluence is one such way of learning new things,” said Swami Shukadevananda Maharaj, secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith.

A classical music rendition preceeded the ceremony, where 30 student committee members and class representatives representing the Confluence Association from the departments of Accounting & Finance and Bank Management, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College were inducted to assume responsibilties of the association, which looks towards the holistic learning experience for students of the departments.
