CHENNAI: That is why lord Shiva makes us understand that through constant sadhana we begin to feel that god’s vibration that is reverberating in our soul is ten thousand times more sensitive than our sensitivity. Our sensitivity is only from ego point of view. We are not sensitive to other’s feelings due to which we are arrogant and rude.

Lord Shiva says that we must understand that to be able to experience the power of our soul, we must at first become sensitive and subtle. For this, our feelings must become sensitive and subtle. We must be able to feel, feel and feel more and more and operate less from our mind and intellect.

From a very hardcore mind, we must transform to a pure and a very soft mind. Lord Shiva in this holy scripture of Shri Guru Gita, has prescribed that this subtlety and sensitivity comes only when “Everyday, we partake as prasad, the holy water that has washed the lotus feet of the supreme guru. This udaka or teerth — sacred water equivalent to the water of all the sacred rivers transforms us to become sensitive and subtle ”. Lord Shiva says it is as simple as that provided we follow this practice with total faith and devotion or shraddha and bhakti.

As we begin to partake the guru padodaka, we realise that the guru charana amrit is making us totally soft from inside. Then, our actions will become soft too. The way we think becomes soft. The way we vibrate becomes soft. The way we start feeling about others also becomes soft. Once we start becoming soft in all these ways, automatically we start becoming very sensitive and subtle to be able to experience the power of our soul. For sometime, you may like to deliberate on how by merely partaking the guru’s udaka makes us subtle and sensitive?

First of all, contemplate on why we reverentially look upon the feet of the guru as the lotus feet? It is because lotus is the most sensitive flower. The lotus denotes the sahasrara chakra on our crown. The thousand crore petalled lotus flower has its stock upside. The stock covers the holy opening of our head. When we partake with the utmost feeling of devotion to the guru, we are invoking the power of our guru in us to evoke the divine quality of subtleness and sensitivity like lotus flower. We then become eligible for  the knowledge to experience the power of our soul -- atma shakti. As lord Shiva has reiterated, “You may not be able to physically wash the lotus feet of the guru everyday, however, just remember the lotus feet of the guru and sip the water with a feeling of devotion and surrender. Automatically, the water gets charged with the powerful vibrations to become guru pada udaka as divinity is feelings based and divine feelings bring transformation within us. It has the power to melt our stone — like hard feelings and make us subtle and soft for the guru will enthrone in your heart.”

This is when lord Shiva reveals this mystical truth, “When you follow this sadhana precisely with astute awareness, your heart becomes kashi. Kashi is the holy abode where I first manifested myself from the un-manifested state that is from the state of nirakaar to saakar.”
