Exploring new ideas

CHENNAI: KCG College of Technology played host to the 5th edition of Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) ‘Innovator’, a competition to showcase the ideas of graduate and post graduate students in the South, on July 25.

The event saw 763 ideas coming in from over 1,060 students. Stuart Sender, Academy Award nominated filmmaker and president of Balcony Films Inc., USA,  spoke on ‘Inspiring Creativity’.

Kumar Jayanth, Commissioner, Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu,  spoke on the importance of innovation.

C R Swaminathan, chairman, education Sub-Committee, CII-SR, and Aby Sam, Director, Hindustan Group of Institutions, were also present in the event.

Students in the first three places in each stream were presented cash awards and certificates.

Hindustan University bagged the second place.
