CHENNAI: Fifty five dog owners and 28 pets woke up bright and early recently, for an unusual treasure hunt on Thiruvanmiyur Beach. Organised by Petcialize, a group that has so far had 10 get-togethers for owners and their pets – this one was certainly a city first. Split into four teams, the participants had to first figure out their ‘mystery location’ via their clues, work their way through building and protecting a sand castle, and most importantly get their doggies to participate by sniffing out some hidden treasure buried in the sand! Turns out these were buried coconut shells with little doggie treats inside. All in all, a fun and fairly wet morning with plenty of tail wags. As for the final prize, one lucky canine was presented a ‘golden crown of pet awesomeness’ and a delicious supply of chewable goodies to last a good long while!
