CHENNAI: Choolaimedu Exnora Innovator’s club organised a meeting on Sunday to felicitate the Government of Tamil Nadu for introducing Small Bus service in Choolaimedu area.

The club congratulated the Chief Minister and B Valarmathi, Minister for Social Welfare and Nutritious Noon Meal Programme, for introducing the bus service in the area.

“Years ago, when I came here to campaign, many  didn’t believe me when I promised them that I would try to introduce mini bus service here. However, it made me pursue the idea relentlessly,” said Valarmathi.

The Minister promised to provide benches in the Choolaimedu graveyard, as demanded by the club, at her own expense.

The club presented a petition to the Minister highlighting other needs like re-laying of roads, providing garbage bins, construction of a flyover and clearing encroachments.

Sakthi, Zonal Chairman, Chennai Corporation and council members Arumugam and Chandra Sekaran participated in the event that was presided over by Panneerselvan, president of Choolaimedu Exnora.

Kasturi Rangan, secretary of the club, delivered the felicitation address.
