CHENNAI: Taking the readers through the journey of her life in her attempt to teach a thing or two about relationships and the importance of finding the right partner, designer and writer Poonaam Uppal has penned the non-fiction A Passionate Gospel of True Love. The book follows the life of Poonaam since her days in Jabalpur, her marriage and her pursuit of true love.
A well-established fashion and textile designer in the US, Poonaam had intense spiritual trysts within her and that led her to explore the mystical realms.
The tome that took her close to ten years to pen, narrates her journey in the path of finding a true love — her twin soul. Twin souls, she explains, find their genesis in the evolution of the humankind. She adds, “When Brahma created people, he created two from one mould. These twin souls don’t have to be similar. They can be poles apart, yet they guarantee the ultimate happiness for each other.”
Stressing on the significance of making an effort to find the twin soul, she says that the book is especially for those in the 15-24 age group. “They will realise that it is more important to find the right partner. The book will help them in their pursuit of their twin soul. As the concept of marriages in our society has changed over the years, I think, a book like this will help readers find out how they can save relationships. The concept extends beyond religious connotations and interpretations. Since we Indians love romantic tales, this one will serves as more than a romantic story — it is a true love story,” she adds. The book has a long association with the city of Chennai, as she reveals that she spent a number of months in the city in the process of writing it.
