CHENNAI: The enforcement wing of the State Commercial Tax Department conducted surveys at 50 different branches and godowns of Hotel Saravana Bhavan, the largest chain of vegetarian restaurants, in the city.
A staff of the hotel chain said that the search was in the backdrop of the recent increase in number of footfalls. The restaurant introduced several combo offers and reduced the prices of some dishes almost three months ago to attract more customers, he said.
