IMH Lady Doctor Found Dead at Home

CHENNAI: A 32-year-old lady doctor, a working assistant professor of psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Kilpauk, was found dead in her residence at Ayanavaram, here, on Wednesday night. The cause of the death is yet to be known.

Police said Dr Amali Victoria (32) went into the bathroom in the evening. Since she did not come out for a while, her husband Mariano Anto Bruno, a doctor at Tamil Nadu Government Multi- Super Speciality Hospital (TNGMSSH), checked on her.

Since his knock at the door did not get any response, he broke in only to find his wife unconscious. She was taken to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. The body was  moved to the Government Royapettah Hospital for a post-mortem and was later handed over to the family.

Forensic analysis reports are awaited  to ascertain the cause of death. A case was registered by the Ayanavaram police and further investigations are on.
