Bringing Together Diverse Techniques

CHENNAI: As one steps into Art Houz Gallery, one is invited with a splash of colours. Every stroke seen on the works displayed, brings alive a motif that symbolises a philosophy of life. The exhibition was organised by Art Houz in collaboration with Nature Morte from Delhi. Nature Morte was first started in New York  in 1982 and then revived in Delhi.

The exhibition is a blend of various mediums employed by the artists, such as etching, acrylic on canvass, oil and metallic foil on canvass, water colour, pencil , brick dust on paper and many others. They convey themes of self and beyond, and moments of suppression among others.

The exhibition triumphs in creating a visual space, where vibrant colours splash and create a mirage of a rainbow.  It showcases the works of artists such as Basist Kumar, Athiveera Pandian, Dileep Sharma, C Douglas, Hara Prasad Trypathy, Josh PS, Martand Khosla, Pradeep Puthoor, Samrendhra Rai Singh, Sonal Varsheneya and Vijay Pichumani, who are artists from Nature Morte.

Among the artists, Athiveera Pandian, C Douglas and Vijay Pichumani are from the city. Around 30 paintings are unveiled at the exhibition, giving art lovers the pleasure of watching a number of techniques and themes.

The exhibition is on till November 23 at Art Houz, 41, Kasturi Rangan Street, Alwarpet.
