CHENNAI: A French police officer, father of a French expat, Arnaud Auger, who was waylaid by a six-member gang in Thiruvanmiyur on Tuesday, wrote to the City Police Commissioner, S George, appreciating the efforts of the City police in nabbing the gang that waylaid his son.
On Thursday (June 11), around 11.30 pm, the French expat, Arnaud Auger working at an ITES company at Ascendas building on CSIR road, Taramani was walking on the Thiruvanmyur beach after having his dinner at an eatery, when he was waylaid by a gang that fled with his mobile phone, debit and credit cards.
Thiruvanmiyur police arrested the accused - residents of a Besant Nagar slum, the next day and recovered the properties intact. All the six accused were remanded in judicial custody. On Tuesday, Arnaud’s father thanked the city police through an email.
