City Gets a Dose of Das' Humour

Not sparing the ex-presidents, Bollywood or foreign healthcare, it was an overdose of humour at comedian Vir Das’ Chennai leg of the ‘Unbelivablish’ tour at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao Concert Hall on Friday.

With a lot of slapstick comedy and double meanings thrown in, the audience got a taste of the crude, crass, politically incorrect flavour of humour that Vir is infamous for.

Vir narrated 10 stories from his life including his first kiss and talks with ex-president Abdul Kalam, a dialogue with a producer after being a star, among others. His tales left most in the audience in splits.

Each tale had a one- line description about it on a big screen, like namaste filmdom, awwting, etc. Vir tried a bit of mimicry of a few ex-presidents in his act and used a generous amount of censored words during the show that lasted for over an hour.

The event ended with a deafening applause from the audience.

Vir’s ‘Unbelivablish’ tour is set to cover 17 cities in the country.
