CHENNAI:The two hotlines — 044-25615025 and 044-2345231 — opened by the city police are flooded with calls seeking help in the rain-hit city, from across the country and abroad. These numbers went viral on social networking sites and NRIs from various countries have been making good use of the facility to locate their dear ones. The first number manned by the Intelligence Section (IS) had received 114 calls on December 2, 215 on 3rd, 130 on 4th, 24 on 5th, and three on 6th, while the other number operated by the Central Crime Branch received about 600 calls since December 2. Besides, the regular control room which can be reached at 100, has received over 2,000 calls now.
