17 Babies Born During Rains

Dr Padma Priya, consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, decided to camp at Apollo Speciality Hospital, OMR, since Friday, in order to facilitate the healthy deliveries of 13 babies. Overall, 17 healthy babies were delivered at the hospital during the rains. Other gynaecologists and paediatricians at the hospital decided to reside at the campus, a release said. Despite lack of financial assistance due to dysfunctional ATMs, expectant mothers and patients were welcomed at Apollo and ambulances were deployed to bring in emergency cases.  


Food, Fun & Movie for Children with HIV

Courtyard by Marriott held an event to observe World AIDS Awareness Day in the presence of actors Bobby Simha and Kalaiyarasan, a release said. HIV-positive children under the care of Project Aids through Care and Training (PACT) by Youth with a Mission (YWAM) were invited to the hotel for a day. The children were taken around the hotel and provided a lunch buffet, movie screening, and an interactive session with the actors.

Hatsun Addition to Flood Relief Efforts

Hatsun Agro Products Ltd., joined hands with Mahadevan (founder, Hot Breads) in the flood relief efforts in the city,a press release said. Hatsun donated `30 lakh worth of supplies such as biscuits, bread, rusk, water, antiseptic liquid and mosquito repellents to those affected by the recent floods that lashed the city. The supplies were provided through Mahadevan.
