CHENNAI: A 26-year-old man stabbed his wife at the Tambaram police station on Monday when they had been summoned there for questioning following a domestic violence complaint filed by the wife. Ganapathy, had caught his 23-year-old wife with another man, which finally resulted in the attack, police said, adding that he has been arrested.

According to police, Ganapathy and Gowri lived at Annai Satya Nagar and were both contract labourers with the Tambaram municipality with two children.

Two days ago, Ganapathy went on a pilgrimage to Sabarimala with his wife and kids having moved to his in-laws place. On the way, he learnt that his wife was missing, and turned back from the pilgrimage half way.

“When I returned home, I found my wife with another man in the house,” Ganapthy reportedly told the police. Following the domestic squabble, Gowri filed a domestic violence complaint with the Tambaram All Women’s Police Station on Sunday evening.
