CHENNAI: If you want to witness the all new Ragapella - an acapella of ragas - drop in at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras next week.

Catch more such unique events at Saarang, the cultural fest at IIT Madras, to be held from January 7 to 11.

Saarang-'15.jpgFrom lectures by prominent personalities such as Bombay Jayashree, Resul Pookutty and Anita Nair among other notable names to glimpses of the World Culture Festival, the organising committee hopes to have it all on the five days.

“With competitions based on music, dance and theatre for college students and performances by singer Sunidhi Chauhan, Karnivool, a progressive Australian band, and the classical night by dancer Shobana and classical singer Aruna Sairam, the cultural fest themed ‘out-of-the-world’ is sure to draw a higher footfall than all its previous versions,” said Rajat S, coordinator, Saarang.

A guaranteed crowd-puller, Saarang is sure to gather sizeable proceeds from the sale of tickets, which would be used for cancer treatment at Apollo Hospital and Adyar Cancer Institute, the organisers added.
