Over 3K Spl Teams Formed to Tackle Dengue Menace in City

CHENNAI: About 3,200 teams have been deployed in Chennai Corporation limits to tackle the spread of Dengue. Similar teams have also been formed in towns and village panchayat limits.

Municipal Administration and Rural Development Minister S P Velumani held a review meeting on Wednesday to discuss the preventive measures. He advised the public health department to form special teams and conduct door-to-door visits for effective implementation of eradication efforts.

Identifying potential places where the dengue mosquito breeds close to where residential areas, local bodies have intensified the anti-mosquito drive and screening. The government has also intensified fogging and anti-larval breeding operations across the State, apart from removing garbage and stagnant water.
