38th Coast Guard Day Celebrations

CHENNAI: As part of the 38th Coast Guard day celebrations, the Regional Headquarters (East) in association with Coast Guard Wives Welfare Association (CGWWA) (East), organised a painting competition where 200 kids participated at Coast Guard Air Station, Chennai.

The children, from across 20 schools in the city, let their ideas run free aound themes that covered everything from cartoon characters to marine life to the Swatch Bharat Campaign.

Bishwajit Balasubramaniam of Forum Art Gallery, was the chief guest for the event and distributed prizes. Inspector General SP Sharma, Commander, Coast Guard Region (East), Mrs Ila Sharma, President, CGWWA (East) were the guests of honour.

On this occasion, a documentary on Indian Coast Guard was also screened.
