CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Saturday expressed deep grief over the death of two party functionaries, who ended their lives unable to bear the problems faced by her.
She reiterated her appeal to the party cadre not to take such extreme steps as it causes her unbearable pain.
Requesting party cadre to remain calm, the AIADMK supremo announced financial assistance of `3 lakh each to the families of the deceased. P Thamizhmani, party secretary at the Adi Dravidar colony in Kovilpalayam, Perambalur, committed suicide by consuming poison. In the second incident, S Narasimhan, a functionary in Avatham Model Colony, Vellore, suffered heart attack unable to bear problems faced by her.
