Honoured for Gesture, Sports

CHENNAI: The Rotary Club of Madras honoured Suneel, founder and managing trustee of Ungalukagha Charitable Trust, for supporting people who need medical and educational assistance recently. Sixteen-year old Tejeshwar Ashok who became the First Indian Marathon Skater by  winning  a Bronze medal in the 16th Asian Championship last year  at China, was also felicitated. He also represented the country for World Speed Roller Skating Championship in 2013.

The awards were given by S Mahaveer Bothra, Rotarian and president, in the presence of PPN Ramakrishnan, secretary, and others.

Tejeshwar Ashok, who skates in various styles, said that he was very excited with this award as it will motivate him  to reach more milestones at national and international levels.  The Rotary Club of Madras also donated money to the Chandra Table Tennis Trust for their forthcoming  projects.They have earlier recognised eminent personalities such as Vijay Amritraj, Anand Amritraj, Krishnamachari Srikkanth,  Leander Paes, Joshna Chinappa and others.
