Mission Admission Begins, Forms Up for Grabs

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University is introducing new integrated courses, both for Bachelors and Masters, from the coming academic year, vice-chancellor P Vanangamudi said on Monday.

The new programmes are BBA LLB (Hons), BCA LLB (Hons) and LLM (Taxation), all regular streams, and Master of Corporate Law (MCL) under the distance education mode.

This is the first time any University in the country is offering BBA LLB (Hons) or BCA LLB (Hons) courses, he said adding that those completing the Bachelors programmes would be awarded LLB degree instead of the usual BL.

Application for these courses would be issued on May 8. The last date for issue and submission of these forms is June 5.

For all Master programmes, PG Diploma and Certificate Course (DDE), LLB (hons) and three-year LLB (affiliated Govt Law Colleges), applications would be issued on May 25. While the last date for issue and submission of forms for all Masters programmes and  PG Diploma and Certificate Course (DDE) is August 28, for LLB (hons) and three year LLB course (affiliated Govt Law Colleges) it is June 30 and July 17 respectively.

Applications for five year BA LLB (affiliated Govt Law Colleges) would be issued on May 14, with the last date of issue and submission of forms being June 12.

The School of Excellence in Law would admit 660 students in the coming academic year, up from 320 this year. All affiliated Government Law Colleges would admit 2,314 students in all.

The counseling sessions would begin from the first week of July, Vanangamudi added.

Meanwhile, most of the 62 Government Arts Colleges in various parts of Tamil Nadu have started issuing applications from Monday.

The remaining colleges would commence from Wednesday.

While SC/ST students need to pay `2 as application fee, others could obtain for Rs 27.

The application fee for Government aided private colleges, however, ranges anywhere between  Rs 250 and RS 500.
