TN UNICEF Gets New Chief

CHENNAI: Job Zachariah has assumed charge as the new chief of UNICEF State Office for Tamil Nadu and Kerala with immediate effect. After joining UNICEF in 2004, Zachariah spearheaded the programme on the realisation of children’s rights in the states of Bihar, Odisha and Jharkhand.

After assuming office in Chennai, he said, “Tamil Nadu and Kerala are the two States that would achieve most of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set for India by the end of 2015. We have to sustain these achievements for the promotion and protection of children’s rights.” Before joiningUNICEF, Job worked in several ministries in the Government of India.
