Building Interest in Science

CHENNAI:Periyar Science and Technology Centre organised ‘Spend a day at the science centre’ workshop on Thursday. The one-day workshop trained participants on how to build analogue and digital circuits, besides memory retention techniques and concept of astronomy. The centre will be conducting an astronomy workshop on May 17,18 and 19, apart from organising various other programmes to keep the interest in science alive among the students community. LK Mukherjee, former director general, National Council of Science Museums, Kolkata, was the chief guest of the programme. Lavanya, a Class 8 student, who was one among the 50 participants at the workshop, said she found the training on how to make paper models of building, interesting. This besides the workshop on digital circuits conducted by a resource person from the centre, she added.
