CHENNAI: Rajaji Centre for De-addiction, which functions under the department of psychiatry, Voluntary Health Services Hospital, celebrated its 23rd anniversary recently. More than 100 people, who are out of drug and alcohol addiction, were honoured with a memento on the occasion by actor Jayam Ravi. Dr B Mala, project director, Rajaji Centre for De-addiction, said, “We are also conducting awareness classes at the school level, as children are easily prone to addiction.” She also explained how addiction can make a person lose their self esteem, leading to financial crisis and ruining the family’s stability.
